Coach Shaffer has an extensive background and 23 years of coaching experience in five different sports throughout the U.S. and overseas. Since 1993 his main focus has been on basketball. Some of his history includes:

Coach Shaffer graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1983 with a BA in Philosophy and Religion with a minor in Coaching. He has mentored numerous players into the college ranks with uncompromising academic values and high moral principles. Coach Shaffer excels at player development and has a proven track record for imparting skills, knowledge, and attitudes from the kindergarten level on up. He is one of the few Colorado high school coaches also certified as a basketball official. As a former youth pastor, Coach Shaffer was ordained in 1999 and has officiated at least 4 of his former player’s weddings. Along with his wife Leslie of 15 years they have 7 children. They reside in Broomfield, Colorado.

Angela “Ace” Pearson
An honorable mention all-state player and 3 time all-conference performer in high school, Angela was also valedictorian and received a full ride scholarship to the Colorado School of Mines. A standout post player for the Oredigger’s, “Ace” captained the women’s basketball team in 2006-07 and will graduate with her Computer Engineering degree in December, 2007. One of only a handful of prep players to score a 1000 points and collect a 1000 rebounds in her career Angela is also the all time Colorado prep shot blocker rejecting 458 attempts from 1999-2003.
